Dry Rot

Dry rot can be nasty, Why? Well you usually don't see anything wrong in a property until it's too late as it is mostly confined under the ground floor and loft spreading through the timber joists, flooring boards including the back of skirtings, it also travels through brick walls, eating away and before you know it your flooring, joists, skirtings and frames need treating and or/replacing.

Dry rot needs a source of water and the absence of ventilation under some flooring can make it thrive! If you notice any rot on the flooring, skirtings, joists or if you are at all worried call.

Wet rot is less serious than dry rot but can also very harmful to the structure of your property.
Timbers are usually very wet and rotten at the joist ends and plates.
